Susan Weber judges Teen Creative Writing Contest

CLEVELAND (April 13, 2009) Award-winning songwriter and band leader Susan Weber will be on hand for a reception on Saturday, April 18th at Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Administrative Building in Parma to publicly honor teen winners of the 14th annual Generation Next Creative Writing Contest.
 
Ms. Weber, whose 2007 album Monet’s Orbit was named a top ten local release by CoolCleveland.com, serves as one of the competition’s judges, along with George Bilgere, Director of Creative Writing at John Carroll University, and John Panza, writer and producer of Heights.Arts.Radio. Ms. Weber, who judges the Song Lyrics category, is an experienced singer, guitarist, and story-teller who was also a featured performer in the Library’s 2008 Summer Reading Program, “Imagine and Explore.”
 
Students from grades 9-12 submitted short stories, poetry, and song lyrics to compete for cash prizes and Borders gift certificates. Winners will also be featured in the Sun Newspapers and in Teen Space on the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s website this spring.
